No longer simply the arbiters of cartoons and stuffed toys, Disney’s research division is currently exploring the possibility of wireless charging rooms (also known as quasistatic cavity resonance), enabling smart phone users to do away with clumsy wall to device cables.
Buzzing with electromagnetic waves, yet safe for humans, these spaces ensure you never encounter the dreaded red bar. Given this technology is still in its infancy, it doesn’t quite meet our aesthetic standards, but we’re watching this space with interest. Who knows, maybe you’ll see this in a Moda project soon?
